(right) The inside helm station is located in the raised saloon. Warm and toasty when it is frigid outside, cool and comfortable when the climate heats up, the captain or crew has outstanding visibility, including the most critical ability to see the sails while underway. Side doors allow for quick access out and bring sea breezes into the cabin when the air conditioning is not needed. Ventilation and air circulation in this cabin is incomparable, having two dorades, two opening overhead hatches and two opening hatches above the doors.

To the port of the steering station is the navigation counter, with ample room for computers, monitors, electronic equipment and/or navigational charts. The owners had a flat screen television installed that drops into the cabinet for out of the way storage.

The Shannon 53HPS Main Cabin

The raised saloon of the Shannon 53 HPS Hull #1 was planned with comfort and socializing in mind. As it is the central room of the yacht, it is the place where friends and family congregate, watch television, converse with the captain while at the inside helm station, share meals, or simply revel at the exhilarating seascapes through large, tempered armour plated 1/2 inch glass windows.
