On a sad day for Walt and for Shannon, Walt's close friend and confidant, Bill Stechmann, who had loaned Walt the money to start Shannon back in 1975, passed away after a long illness. Happily, Bill had been able to enjoy sailing his Shannon 28 #19 Windsong with his daughter Penny during the previous summer.
