ON THE DECK
The deck of the 38 SRD was designed and built with comfort and safety in mind. The cabin top and side decks are insulated with foam core to provide additional protection from the heat of the sun. There are three opening skylight hatches along with fourteen opening portlights for full ventilation below decks. The wide side decks allow easy access to the bow from the cockpit, a feature missing on many powerboats today.

The polished stainless steel stanchions with engraved Shannon logo and teak hand rail including opening gates port and starboard give added safety when going forward.

The 38 SRD utilizes Shannon's proven mechanically fastened and chemically bonded internal hull to deck joint, which is finished with a beautifully varnished teak cap rail. The integral bowsprit incorporates an anchor chock, custom stainless steel hull protection and roller allowing for effortless deployment of the anchor from the helm station with the reversing 12VDC windlass.

IN THE COCKPIT
The 38 SRD also provides a huge comfortable cockpit for all the out-of-doors enjoyment that only boating provides. For lounging, swimming, etc., the 38 SRD is the ultimate on the waterfront home. There are four deck enclosure options, including a flybridge. A windshield and convertible top provide protection from the sun or weather under way, anchored or at the dock. The optional hardtop gives all weather protection and has sliding side windows and two overhead hatches for great ventilation. The custom stainless steel cushioned adjustable helm seats are adjustable and provide excellent visibility whether seated or standing.

Attention to Details Outside the Shannon 38 SRD
The aft bench and large cockpit table creates the perfect place for dining and entertaining guests. To match today's lifestyles, there is a provision in the cockpit for an icemaker, a small refrigerator, and a built-in stainless steel barbecue grill, as well as a bimini sun cover. There is a transom door leading to a wide swim platform featuring a hot and cold shower.
THE HULL CONSTRUCTION
The hull on the SRD 38 utilizes state-of-the-art composite foam core construction built to the highest standards. Shannon Yachts has been recognized as an industry leader with a 31 year history of fiberglass excellence. The SRD 38's hull is light-weight but incredibly strong. The SRD 38 is built for ocean passages like all Shannons. It is exceptionally quiet thanks to the foam core, which does not have the water absorption and delamination potential of balsa wood cores. The SRD 38 hull and deck fiberglass laminates are covered by Shannon's transferable ten year warranty.
